MALAGA BREAK
The Malaga Break is a special group trip for young people who have not (yet) been able to make a study choice and also want to learn the Spanish language during their gap year. Malaga is a wonderful city on the Mediterranean Sea. You will live in a student house in the middle of the old city. You do the cooking yourself. You will receive Spanish lessons 4 days a week (morning) at a very good language school a few minutes’ walk from your apartment,
After the days of classes you can jump straight into the sea! During this trip, in addition to the weekly excursions, we also offer the opportunity to learn Padel. We also have good contacts with the Hockey Club of Malaga, where you can provide hockey training to children as a volunteer. Does this seem like something to you? STUDY CHOICE PROGRAM DURING YOUR GAP YEAR?
More and more courses are allowed to select their students themselves. This means that in addition to good grades, you must also be able to demonstrate your motivation. Partly due to our years of experience in higher education, we can help you with your study choice and we also prepare you for the study choice check conversations. That makes us unique. You will discover your study choice together with an (online) coach. Your gap year can also come in handy if you apply for jobs later. An experience abroad always looks good on your CV.
SPANISH LANGUAGE LESSONS
Many young people would like to learn a new language during their gap year. The Spanish language has been the first choice for years. That is not surprising. Spanish is a truly global language and Spain is a wonderful country to spend a while. During the Malaga Break you and your group will stay in a communal house. In the morning you take language lessons and in the afternoon you are free. We deliberately chose Malaga because this city has the best climate in Europe, so you can go to the beach almost every day after a day of language lessons. The area is also beautiful and there are many beautiful cities in the area.

In the heart of the old town
Our Breakers live as a group in the (car-free) center of the old city. Malaga has a very beautiful old center that has been beautifully renovated in recent years. When you step out of your apartment you are immediately in the vibrant heart of the city. There are many nice squares with terraces where you can eat and drink. And because the weather is nice almost all year round, you can often find the Breakers here.
Boost your Break
If you get the hang of it after 4 weeks and want to stay longer, that's no problem. Many Breakers decide on the spot to stay longer together, for example to take a surfing course; We know the road well and can give you all kinds of travel tips. Many Breakers who have been to Malaga with us see this trip as a stepping stone to even more wonderful gap year travel adventures. EXCITING EXCURSIONS
It is a good place to be in Malaga, but the surrounding area is also worth a visit. We make an excursion every week so that you can get to know the region well. We also organize various activities during the week.
The Motivation Compass certificate is being recognized by more and more colleges and universities as a useful instrument in study choice check conversations. During these conversations, the prospective student must justify his or her study choice. We often hear from the Breakers that the trip and the weekly coaching help them to explain very well during these conversations why the study choice in question is the right one for them. We are always very proud when we hear from our participants that they have been accepted into the study of their choice!
Boost your Break
If you get the hang of it after 6 weeks and want to stay longer, that’s no problem. Many Breakers decide on the spot to travel further together and because we know the road well, we can give you all kinds of travel tips. If you want to make several Break trips during your gap year, we offer great combination discounts.
The weekly conversations with my coach have taught me a lot about myself and when I went to look at my studies on an open day, I was really amazed at how well that study suits me.
HOCKEY, PADEL OR OTHER TALENTS?
If there is sufficient interest, our Breakers can follow hockey training at the Malaga hockey club. If you like, you can also give training to Spanish children yourself. This way you immediately learn the language. In Spain, Padel is the fastest growing sport. In Malaga we have good contacts at the Padel club, so you can learn this new sport during the Malaga Break. Do you have other talents that you would like to do more with? The Malaga Break is the ideal time to get started with this. Let us know and we will look for a good teacher!

During your gap year break we will work specifically on your (study) future. We do this with the Motivation Compass method. You will be guided by expert coaches with extensive experience.
