SURI BREAK = RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE
Suriname is a real tropical jungle destination where we will experience exciting adventures. You will live with a group in the center of Paramaribo for 6 weeks. You do your own shopping and cook your own food. You can, among other things. volunteer at the zoo or at a sloth rescue center. And of course you will also go on exciting excursions during this trip and search for your choice of study with your own coach.
We go kayaking on the river, and we stay for a few days in a river camp in the jungle. Together with a guide you will go on a jungle trek and you will be amazed at life in a jungle. You will learn to cook Surinamese and you will receive a sports card so that you can stay in shape after all that delicious food.

SURI BREAK; A REAL JUNGLE EXPERIENCE
During the Suri Break you and your group will stay in a communal house in Paramario. You will learn a lot about the culture, food, language, etc. Suriname is known as one of the greenest countries in the world; more than 90% of the country consists of jungle. We will of course make full use of this. We regularly travel by van to special sights outside the city. You will also work as a volunteer. This is usually at a school with small children, but can also be in healthcare or working with animals or at a museum.

According to many who have been there, Suriname is even the most beautiful country in the world. It is still a real unknown destination. During our excursions we visit different places and of course we also enjoy the beautiful nature of the country. We make an excursion every week so that you get to know the country well. You will feel like Indiana Jones as you sail through the jungle on a boat and see the monkeys swinging through the trees. Suriname is also a real melting pot of different cultures. This results in a very diverse cuisine that you will really enjoy.

IS THE SURIBREAK AFFORDABLE?
The Suri Break lasts 6 weeks and costs 2685 euros. For this you will receive your accommodation for 6 weeks, and we will organize various excursions and educational activities. You will receive a bicycle and a sports card for unlimited sports and there will be a Dutch-speaking supervisor nearby 24/7. That gives you a safe feeling, right? You will work as a volunteer during the day. Of course there is also plenty of time to enjoy all the beauty that Suriname has to offer. Our Suri Break supervisor also lives in Paramaribo. She knows the area well and will do all kinds of fun things with you. Do you have other talents that you would like to do more with? Your gap year is the ideal time to get started with this. The weekly conversations with my coach have taught me a lot about myself and when I went to look at my studies on an open day, I was really amazed at how well that study suits me.
SURI BREAK WORKS
Working is useful, especially as a volunteer during your gap year. It teaches you to take responsibility, it provides rhythm and regularity, and it also looks very good on your CV. A lot of reasons why we think it is important that every Breaker goes to work. Here too, work is voluntary but not without obligation! You are counted on by the children and/or animals you work with. During the Suri Break you can choose from different workplaces; we offer work at a BSO and a daycare center. But if you prefer to work with animals, we also offer special workplaces at an animal shelter or at the Paramaribo zoo. Are you handy with ICT? We have several organizations that would like to keep their social media and websites up to date and who can do that better than our Breakers?
This makes us unique!
More and more courses are allowed to select their students themselves. This means that in addition to good grades, you must also be able to demonstrate your motivation. Partly due to our years of experience in higher education, we can help you with your study choice and we also prepare you for the study choice check conversations. We bring you to the front door of your study, as it were. That makes us unique.
